School Profile

Little Flower Academy, founded in 1927 by the Sisters of St. Ann, is an independent Catholic all girls school offering an academic program from Grade 8 through Grade 12 leading to University entrance and college admittance.

Our school enrollment consists of 460 students with a class size of approximately 30 students in the early years and considerably lower numbers in our Grade 11 and 12 specialized subjects.

Admissions to Grade 8 is based upon an entrance examination, which evaluates a student's basic performance in English, Mathematics, and French. Students follow the full academic curriculum prescribed by the Province of British Columbia. Senior classes write government examinations during the last two weeks of June, and the final grade in these courses is a composite of 60% school evaluation and 40% for the examination mark. We strongly encourage our students to participate in local, national, and international competitions.

In addition, the school offers an excellent and full athletic program in which our teams compete annually in prestigious tournaments as well as in regional and Provincial playoffs. To round out our extra-curricular program, we offer a full range of activities and clubs.

Through the school's program, we effectively build a successful and happy community based upon the principles of the Catholic faith, the pursuit of excellence, and student empowerment.
