Performing Arts Provincial Update

Brianna Clark '18 and Valerie Mok '18 went to Fort St. John in June for BC Performing Arts Provincials. Performing Arts BC acts as the umbrella organization for 34 regional performing arts festivals throughout the province.
Each regional festival sends its most promising young artists to compete at the provincial level. The event encompasses special master classes, lectures, coaching , workshops, technique classes and adjudications. In order to qualify for Provincials, you must win a local festival at the regional level and then be recommended to represent them.

Brianna received the First Runner-Up in Musical Theatre (16 and under) and Valerie received the First Runner-Up in Piano (16 and under). They both agreed their experiences gained over the few days in Fort St. John is very valuable and will help them to further polish their performances in the future. When they were not performing, they had the opportunity to attend different classes and workshops of varying categories.

Provincials in Fort St. John was definitely an irreplaceable occasion to cherish. Both girls are thankful for the opportunity to learn and compete among the best in BC.

Congratulations Brianna and Valerie!
