Cooking Class with Chef Daryle Nagata
It's not going to be cookies and cheese biscuits (lovely as they are) when you come back to the Home Ec room this spring! While you'll recognize the surroundings and your classmates, we'll have the finest seasonal ingredients and a focus on the gourmet as seventeen89's Chef, Daryle Nagata instructs you on putting together the courses you'll enjoy with paired, BC wines.
Sure, the Home Ec rooms lack the stainless steel of other cooking schools in Vancouver. But they are filled with memories! We're very excited to welcome a renowned local chef to direct the class.
The class format will include direction on food preparation for several courses. After each course, you'll have the opportunity to sit down and enjoy the food you've prepared. While the Home Ec kitchen will be very much as you remember it, we're going to dress up the Auditorium for the eating part of the evening. Thanks to a generous donation, your dinner also includes some very special, limited edition BC wines.
It will be an evening to remember. Gather a group, come with a friend or get a single ticket. We are limited to the size of the Home Ec kitchen for this event, so space is highly limited.
Tickets, at $50 until April 15, are available online at www.lfabc.org/CelebrityChef. Any profits from the evening will be donated entirely to the benefit of the Home Ec kitchens.
