Angels Off to LA

Two Angels have just received news that their auditions to take part in the prestigious A Cappella Academy were successful. Congratulations to sisters Maisey Perelonia ’20 and Sophie Perelonia ’20, who will travel to Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles this summer to take part in the intensive 10-day program.
The girls were very excited to receive news that they had been selected. The program is designed to train, foster, and inspire the bright minds of contemporary a cappella. And, with more than 500 auditions for the 70 or so spots, selection is highly competitive. It’s also very international, with past participants coming from US, Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Croatia, Estonia, and New Zealand.

The A Cappella Academy is run by Avi Kaplan (former bass of Pentatonix), Ben Bram (Grammy winning arranger for Pentatonix and Pitch Perfect), and Rob Dietz (award-winning producer who has worked on the Sing-Off and Glee), giving each participant a unique opportunity to work with established industry experts.

Sophie and Maisey sent in their auditions over Christmas break and were delighted to get the good news in late January. Congratulations!
