Reverence for Life Update: Seniors Send Letter of Thanks

This past May, the Reverence for Life Club reached out to local seniors in care homes to send their love. This week the club received a touching letter of thanks from the seniors.
In response to the challenges seniors in care homes have faced over the pandemic, the Reverence for Life Club decided to reach out with handmade cards to express their love and compassion. Club members enjoyed taking the time to create 75 cards for a local seniors care facility, writing personal notes of encouragement and hope to each member by name. The hope was that this project would bring a smile to their faces and brighten their days.

We're happy to report that it looks like that mission was accomplished. Just this week the Reverence for Life Club received a very touching letter from the senior's residence. The content of the letter is transcribed below:

Dear LFA Reverence for Life Club,

The Staff and Residents of PHC - Brock Fahrni Pavilion 3rd Floor would like to extend our sincere gratitude, heartfelt thanks, and appreciation to all of you.

Your act of kindness and thoughtfulness through the beautiful hand-made cards with thoughtful and loving messages you sent brought joy and smiles to our residents. Those cards cheered up a lot of them who were feeling bored; helpless; hopeless; and missing their homes and loved ones.

Many of them carried the card on their walkers and proudly showed it to other residents, visitors, and staff. Others put it on their tables or pinned them on their bedside cork boards.

Here are some of their verbal remarks:
"This card is beautiful; I like it a lot"
"I will pray for the sender during my rosary"
"May God bless the students"
"The sender of this card is an Angel"
"It feels good to be remembered"
"I am touched that someone is thinking of me"
"I am so happy to have this card"
"I will show this to my family when they come"
And many more...

The knitted hearts were used by a few for hand exercises or placed at the residents bedside as part of their collection/decor. Once again, thank you so much for your many creative acts of kindness especially to the residents of our home. May God continue to bless you, your school, and your families.

With thankful and grateful hearts,
Brock Fahrni Staff and Residents
