Spotlight: Cross Country
Spotlight on Sports is a new feature from our Athletics Department, which will highlight some of the amazing athlete and team accomplishments that characterize our Athletics Program at LFA. This week's spotlight on our LFA Fall Sports focuses on Cross Country.
The Cross Country team found itself with much greater depth and participation this year. As a result, the Senior team qualified seven very strong runners to the Provincial Championships, which included athletes Ceili McCabe '19, Danica Vansgaard '19, Lulie MacFarlane '23, Justine Rapier '19, Taylor Van Marrewyk '20, Maya Landero-Van '20, and Ava MacFarlane '20. The seniors came fifth in BC! Way to go girls. The team looks to build on its depth at the junior levels in years to come.
Special acknowledgement to our Junior all-stars, who are Isabel Rapier '23 and Kaylee Bains '22.
The Superstar award goes to our 4-time provincial MVP Ceili McCabe '19. She placed an incredible 2nd place in the province and dominated a 500-runner field over a grueling 6.4 km course.
