Angels Take Silver at Burnaby Basketball Tournament

Parent contributor
The Burnaby North Basketball Tournament landed two AA teams in the gold medal game. Britannia, currently ranked 5th in the province, up against our LFA Angels who sit outside out the top 10. While LFA settled for silver, it was a fantastic game to finish off a brilliant tournament for the Angels.
The game was a fast back and forth affair as both teams played exciting transition basketball. There were many lead changes throughout the game, incredible shots made by both teams. In the last four minutes, Britannia's dynamic duo, tournament play experience, and fresher legs closed out the game.

The Angels, owing to some injuries, played with a short bench all tournament were visibly tired. You sensed they just ran "out of gas", being their  fifth game in four days and as we still get our basketball fitness up to in-season form. Congratulations to both teams! LFA donated their $200, second-place cheque to Union Gospel Mission. Alexis Fong '19 finished third out of 16 competitors in the three point shooting contest.

The Angels will play in Sir Winston Churchill Invitational starting Weds January 9th. Go Angels!
