As the summer draws to a close and our focus shifts towards a successful year at LFA, please take a minute to review this information on traffic and uniform.
Neighbourhood Traffic
Our 3–school traffic management plan (York House School, Shaughnessy Elementary School and LFA) is an important agreement to ensure the safe flow of traffic and pedestrians through our neighbourhood.
All students are to be dropped off and picked up in the student drop off zone only. This drop off zone is on the north side of Nanton Avenue, near the west driveway of the parking lot. Please do not pick up students along Alexandra Street or along the south side of Nanton in front of the residences.
Please refrain from driving into the school parking lots to drop off your daughters. This is an important safety issue. Stopping to let off students while blocking the entrance or exit to the parking lots is also problematic.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our traffic management plan which is outlined in the student agenda book, the parent handbook, and on the school website.
School Uniform
At Little Flower Academy, we consider the uniform to be an important symbol of our school. We ask students to wear our uniform proudly and appropriately at all times. Detailed uniform regulations can be found in the student agenda book and the parent handbook.
(1) Students travelling to and from school are asked to wear approved outerwear. There are many options available as weather in Vancouver is somewhat less than stable. Students may choose to wear: navy or black duffel style coat; navy or black dress raincoat; black LFA rain jacket; navy or black blazer; official LFA bomber jacket; or maroon LFA Angels PE uniform sweatshirt. Please note that no other sweatshirt may be worn.
(2) School shoes should have a low platform with a loafer style heel not exceeding 4 cm. School shoes should have neither big wedge-heels nor narrow high heels.
Please review the regulations and support us in our efforts to ensure that your daughter is in proper uniform. A sincere thank you to the many students who continually wear their uniforms appropriately.
Please check your daughter’s uniform before school reopens. If you are in need of new uniform pieces, please visit Neat Uniforms at 1050 Boundary Road in Burnaby. Telephone number is 604-205-7560.
Thank you for your assistance in these matters. Enjoy the final weeks of summer!
