Enriched Experiences

You’ve likely heard before that gifts to the school make a difference in the lives of our students every day. The reason we like to emphasize this point so much is because it’s true! From the courses we offer, to the sports and extracurricular opportunities, the retreats and field trips, and the campus technology, every resource and learning opportunity is made possible by gifts.

The true power of giving can be measured in the enormous potential these resources and learning opportunities extract from our students.

To give you just a few examples: our athletics program thrived this year with our Sr Field Hockey, Badminton, and Tennis teams all competing at BC Provincials and winning silver medals; our Physics Olympics team competed at UBC’s 46^th Physics Olympics and placed 5^th out of 78 teams that competed, taking first overall in a number of events; graduating senior Samantha Chan ’24 became LFA’s 3^rd Schulich Scholar recipient in just four years, the most prestigious STEM scholarship in Canada; and graduating senior Lori Lai ’24 won an Award of Distinction from the Alberta University of Arts for her piece “Labour of Love”, which also came with a generous grant for LFA’s Art department.

These accomplishments are just a small glimpse into the many extraordinary things our students achieved this year. Our students wouldn’t find themselves with such opportunities to showcase their varied talents, if it were not for the support we receive from our community.

It is for this very reason that LFA has set its sights on the future of our school. We know the power a great education holds, and we are committed to not only rise to the aspirations of our students but meet them and help push them forward. We can’t wait to break ground on our campus redevelopment next year. The project will not only transform what our campus looks like, but how subjects are taught and learned. In every meaningful way, this project will elevate the LFA experience for our students. 

As we prepare for this next evolution of LFA, we’d like to share a first look at our upcoming campaign.
