Community support drives so much of the special opportunities and experiences afforded to our students. From course offerings to sports and extracurriculars, field trips, retreats, and campus technology, the resources and opportunities our students possess are made possible through giving.
What our students make of those opportunities and experiences in turn is the most beautiful part. This year, that included: An incredible nine LFA students having their work published in Vancouver Public Library’s literary art magazine, ink; a tremendous showing by our Physics Olympics Team at UBC’s annual competition which saw our students claim a silver medal in the pendulum launcher event amongst a field of 84 competing schools; an unforgettable year for our Field Hockey program which began with a move up to AAA competition—a challenge the Senior team rose to meet as they came away with a 2nd place finish at provincials—the athletes then finished the season off with an international trip to the UK which saw friendly exhibition matches and many memories made; an incredibly successful year for our Model UN program which found them winning several awards at conferences in Hawaii, New York, Portugal, and coming away with the Best Large Delegation Award at the Canadian High Schools Model UN conference in Vancouver this year; and Amelia King ’27 made LFA proud when she came away with the top prize at the Poetry in Voice National Finals which sees 10,000 students across the country participate annually.
It never ceases to amaze us what our students make of the opportunities they’re provided. It’s precisely for that reason our vision for LFA’s next evolution is so meaningful. We can’t wait to see the incredible things the next generation of Angels does when equipped with the very best resources and support we can offer. Thank you for making it possible.
