Jr Basketball Angels on to Finals

Parent contributor
Welcoming back Kayla Canama '19 back from injury and assistant coach, Mr. MacKay were good additions for a team that's faced some injury adversity this season.
As the team continues to have a fluid starting lineup, their depth of skill shines. The Angels spent three days of practice reinventing their game to a "back to basics" fundamental basketball, stepping back from their trade mark highlight reel high octane offence. It's adaptation with the likes of Alexis Fong '19, LFA's perimeter threat who scores 10-12 points per game, still on crutches. Alexis has continued to her commitment to the team and helped keep the feeling around the team light... even by hitting around 50% of her 3 point attempts, hobbled on one leg during half time or practice breaks to the delight of those cheering on the Angels.

The semi-finals against St. Pat's was methodical. The Angels used the game to work out the kinks of their new rotation. With only a six point lead at half time, the Angels finally got some traction and pulled away to a 54-35 win.
