An excellent 2015-6 Model UN year of conferences is anticipated with the 22 very capable Model UN leaders at the helm. Already this team of experts has taught the rules of parliamentary style debate and organized a simulation on "The Misuse of Antibiotics" for the new Grade 9 students. The 2015-6 team is a powerhouse of talent and enthusiasm.
Apart from training the new students in the Model UN club, leaders read and correct position papers of students for some conferences, act as role models to the younger students being available by email for questions and they also act as Head Delegates at conferences and club representatives at the LFA Open House and inhouse activities assembly. They are an invaluable resource.
The new Grade 10 Model UN leaders for this year are Elizabeth Vaz, Jacqueline Ovsenek, Julia Ovsenek, Phoebe C. Lee, Sophie Wieczorek, Germaine Chu, Crystal Ma, Katie Phillips, Nhi Le, Fiona Li and Jordan Fahey.
They will join the retuning leaders from Grade 11 who are Sandy Pang, Abby Morrison, Paige Furlan, Joyce Yam, Noa Wang, Jessica Fernandez, Hannah Goodridge, Chezsa de Los Santos, Teresa Chen, Kristina Wong and Vanessa Cheng.
Thank you to the departing leaders in Grade 12 who helped over the past two years. They are Ciara O' Leary, Vanessa Shiao, Kayla Little, Eve Grebert, KarHing Ng, Clare Hii, Alexa Nemeth, Amanda Chiong and Jordan Shaw. Please know you played a part in the 35 awards that were won at our 5 conferences this year - VYMUN, CONNECT MUN and CAHSMUN in Vancouver, BOSMUN in Boston and HMUNCHINA in Beijing. We wish you well in the future and will miss your spirit.
I look forward to the 2015-6 Model UN year. Mrs. Mills
