Alumnae Documentary to Screen at VIFF
Next week (on Thursday, March 17th) the short documentary, Paradise Island, by our very own Kat Jayme '06, is having its Vancouver premiere at Vancity Theatre. You can get your tickets at VIFF today! 100% of the nights proceeds will be going to Surfrider Vancouver, a nonprofit environmental organization, to help with their upcoming beach cleanups in Vancouver.
We are pleased to share the Vancouver premier with you. As you may remember, Kat's film, which also screened at the prestigiuos Cannes Film Festival, has been highlighted before in our Spring 2015 La Petite Fleur.
Film Synopsis
In the short film Paradise Island, Vancouver-based filmmaker Kat Jayme travels to Boracay, the crown jewel of the Philippines and her family’s favourite vacation spot. But this time she is not on holiday. With the help of the local children of the island, who make sandcastles for money, she discovers what life is really like on Paradise Island.
