It’s very exciting for us to share that Danielle Kettlewell ’10 will represent Australia in Synchronized Swimming at the Rio Olympics this summer. We are very excited to have an Angel to cheer for!
Older sister Monique (Kettlewell) McKee ’91 shares the story:
I am so very proud of my little sister Danielle as she goes off to compete in the Rio Olympics this summer. I remember fondly when she was young and first took synchronized swimming. She has been dedicated synchro is so many ways over the year: practicing hard and going to competitions, of course, but also coaching others.
Two and a half years ago, she got the call to try out for the Australian team. Right away she decided to take up the challenge, though it meant am extraordinary change in her life. She moved to Perth to train full time, knowing that it was the only way to make the Australian Olympic team. She did it! Now she gets to live her dream of going to an Olympic Games. Since her days at LFA, Danielle has grown into such an amazing person with so much drive, confidence and spirit and I cannot wait to go to Rio with my parents and brothers and sister and cheer her on. All Hail to LFA!
