LFA Cruise to Win in First Game of UBC Tournament

The Senior A Field Hockey Angels had the advantage over South Kamloops of having a tournament under our belt and lots of practices. They were just out of selections and had only had a couple of practices.
It would be unfair to call the win "easy". Kamloops worked too hard for that. However, the girls controlled the game from the opening whistle, putting away three goals in the first half. We used the opportunity to work some elements of our system and to start swinging the ball from left to right and right to left. Even as our focus switched from scoring to control, there were good scoring chances falling to us. Two more goals in the second half and an incredible, sprawling, lights-out save from the Kamloops goalie wrapped a very strong start to the tournament. We're back at it tomorrow with three games at UBC. Go Angels!
