Junior Volleyball Angels Fourth at BC Catholics

Angels go through the pool play with a perfect record but are clipped in the final two, very close playoff games to finish in fourth.
Energized by an enthusiastic LFA community, the tournament started with a very promising first day. Our Angels won all four of their pool games 2-0 and were firing on all cylinders.

Unfortunately things didn't go as planned in the championship round. The Angels started well winning a tight quarter final game 2-0, which put them against St. Pats in the semifinals. The Angels took the first set but St. Pats came back in the second set. In a very tense third set, nerves got the better of the Angels, who committed uncharacteristic errors, which cost them the decisive set (10-15).

Faced with playing for bronze (which would match last season's result) it proved to be, "not their day". While they won the first set, Holy Cross took the next two. Kudos to St. Pats and Holy Cross for their constant hustle keeping the ball in play.

The girls will regroup with a takeaway “stay focused, nothing is given”.Through the tournament, the team showed flashes of their potential as they work toward the ultimate goal of first winning the league title and getting the invite to Provincials.

Congratulations to STM repeating as Jr Catholic champions.

Gabriella Goodger '20 was chosen as LFA's spirit award recipient. Congratulations!

Special thanks to Chef Paul's delicious lunch options, the raucous LFA students that rocked the auditorium with chants of “ANGEL POWER”, LFA for hosting and to Carole Prescott and her dedicated group in putting on a great tournament.
