This past weekend, Alexa Dodds '20 took top honours for her age group at the International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association (IFSA) sanctioned Junior Freeride Regional Competition hosted at Whistler Blackcomb.
Freeriders are scored based on line choice, fluidity, technique, control, and style as they navigate through natural terrain featuring trees, steeps, cliffs, chutes, drops and gullies where they are rewarded for using the features creatively. Alexa performed in one of Whistler's most challenging terrain, Goat’s Gully and is excited to be recognized as one of the next generation of young athletes in Freeride. This weekend's competition was Alexa’s first sanctioned race and she is looking forward to competing at the National event in March of 2017.
