Angels Continue Winning Ways

For our Junior Baskeball Team, it's another week of success. Fresh off the Gold Medal performance at the LFA tournament there was no let down from this group of Angels.
They travelled cross-town to play Notre Dame at their "Alumni Gym". A quick start got the Angels to a convincing 21-4 first quarter lead. With the lead, the team had the opportunity to be creative to fine tune their one-on-one moves and passing plays. They cruised from that point to a 54-20 win.

The next day back at Sister Kelly Gym, the Angels were playing Crofton for the second time this season. Crofton scored first, right away off the opening tip-off. However, LFA answered right back on their first possession with a nice left handed tear-drop shot over two defenders. They never looked back. The score was 38-8 at half-time; as the team rotated on and off, the bench enjoyed hooting and hollering with excitement as the Angels went on to a 58-27 victory.

As the team rolls the bench, the Angels head into the exam week undefeated in league play. Over the past few weeks, at first it was for the love of playing basketball but it’s been a transformation of the two grades becoming a tight band of sisters with their group chats and endless banter on and off the court.

They are looking forward to the upcoming Provincial qualifying tournament at Seycove Secondary on the Friday right after their final day of exams. GO ANGELS!
