A win over a strong Whistler team would have given the Junior Basketball Angels a place in the finals; however, Whislter proved too much on this evening.
The game started well as the Angels led in the first quarter, but were behind by 6 at half time. With two key players out to injury who typically account for 20 to 30 points a game, the top-end team like Whislter was always going to be a challenge. As the second half progressed, all of the Angels saw action and worked hard but could not overcome Whistler’s height advantage on both ends. In the end, though, it was when their players started to hit their perimeter shots that they started to pull away. Whistler pulled away to a 61-39 win.
