Coming off their 4-win, bronze medal performance at Bridgman this past weekend, LFA was all business in their last league game of the year. With the win, LFA will finish second in the Vancouver league and prepare for their Sea to Sky Zone Championship match up with West Vancouver Secondary next week.
Widely known as the most elite high school field hockey tournament in Canada, LFA is a regular at the tournament--missing only one Bridgman in the past 20 years. And after years of great teams, it is rewarding to pull off a podium finish two years in a row! Congrats to our Angels on a well-earned bronze medal in the 2025 edition of this fantastic tournament.
Coming out slow, LFA instantly fell behind to a very good Collingwood team. When Collingwood doubled their lead before half, it looked like it might not be their day. Then, a goal gave LFA life and they piled on the pressure to score three in a matter of minutes. Up 3-2, it was a very unlucky break that lead to a goal to make it 3-3. LFA responded with a hard-worked goal with 7 minutes left only for it to be called back for reasons unknown. But the Angels would not be denied, getting a very late short corner that Amy converted for an extraordinary 4-3 win, as they advance to the Bridgman semi finals for the second year in a row.
Our Senior field hockey team kept a perfect record in the Havoc Field Hockey tournament this weekend. Winning the first three games, Kelowna Secondary gave them a heck of a game in the final game of the week. Eva tied it up late, 1-1, on a short corner--forcing the shootout. Rookie goalie Ella was incredible in net while Bea, AnneYee and Amy sealed the deal with three goals in the shootout for the win!
Our Senior Field Hockey team put in a great effort and pushed right until the last whistle, but ultimately came up short against a well-prepared Crofton side. With our Tamanawis-based tournament coming up on Thursday and Friday, the team will get heaps of time to get comfortable with their roles. Next league game is against our neighbour, York House!
Thalia competed at the 2025 Canadian U17/U19 Junior Nationals this past week and came away with the top prize alongside her doubles partner, Nathan Lee.
Our Bantam basketball team played a hard fought game last night against York House to claim a 37-25 victory on their way to raising the League Championship banner!
LFA's Senior basketball team put in a superb effort to secure the AAA Sea to Sky Zone Championships last night. It marks the third banner for the team in three years. Next step: the AAA Provincial Championships! Go Angels!
With a 47-40 victory against Sir Charles Tupper last night, our Sr Basketball team has qualified for the AAA BC Provincial Tournament for the 3rd straight year!
