The Alumnae Exec present...The Alumnae Curling Bonspiel 2026!
This year, the much-awaited Alumnae Spring Event will be a Curling Bonspiel! Rally your friends, assemble a squad, and get ready to hit the ice against former teachers and fellow alum for an evening of curling, fun, and socializing.
For the first time since 2013, the Alumnae Exec is hosting a Curling Bonspiel. Bonspiels for the uninitiated are fun community curling events popular in the Prairies!
Ours will be held at the Vancouver Curling Club at the Hillcrest Community Centre and will take place over the course of one fun Friday night on May 1, 2026.
You can register as a team of four (and come up with your own team name!), or you can register individually and we'll help you form a team with fellow alums or teachers from your year.
If you're worried about your curling aptitude, we promise zero Olympic experience is required. In fact, we will have former Team Canada curlers on hand to coach and guide is through the fundamentals before diving into some friendly competition. And if you're still not convinced, you are also welcome to join as a spectator and take in the curling action from the comfort of the lounge.
By all measures it will be a uniquely Canadian and LFA event, we encourage you to come out, bring your friends, and have a great time. If you're anything like us and the Olympic action in Cortina has made you curious to try your hand at curling, you won't want to miss this event!
