Jr Cross Country Wins Zone Finals
Congratulations to our Junior Cross Country Team who won the zone finals on October 28th.
The year's Junior Cross Country team, comprised of mostly Grade 8s, placed first in the Sea to Sky league, besting even AAA teams such as Handsworth and Kitsilano.
It was a special day for running at Jericho Beach as the team weathered sunshine, rain, and even rainbows as they ran across grass, gravel, and woodchips over a 4.15km course featuring a 150m sprint to close the race.
This year's Junior Cross Country team has seen record participation with 16 student athletes in Grades 8 and 9. Their enthusiasm and passion for running was on full display at the Zone Finals. Each runner left their all out on the course and every last one of them sprinted through the finish line and helped secure a well deserve banner.
The girls will head to provincials next weekend. Congrats to all our runners who did a phenomenal job.
