On October 15th, 2025, in front of staff, students, and select Flourish Campaign leaders, we broke ground on our new campus. Today marks one year since that day.
The transformation we’ve seen take place in the year since has been incredible. Over the past year, the architects, project managers, consultants, and construction team have worked diligently to keep our campus redevelopment on time and on budget.
Since our last update we’ve seen all of the mass timber put in place, and the installation of exterior siding and windows has begun. As you walk by the construction site today, you will notice that the majority of the construction work has now moved into the interior of the building where individual classrooms are taking shape and the interior framing has neared completion. Over the course of the summer, renovation work took place in the 2007 wing of our school to allow our existing mechanical systems to connect to the new building.
The last few weeks of September saw critical HVAC units arrive on site and structural bracing to emerge along the rear of the campus as the interior of the building is equipped and prepared. The most distinct new features of the building that have emerged over the past few months are the mass timber pillars that will line the foyer and entrance of our new campus along with the skywalk that will be the key point of connection of our current and new campus.
It is remarkable to sit back and marvel at just how far the campus has come along in the past year. We are grateful for the Axiom crew that has shepherded the project to this point, and of course for you, our LFA community, for getting behind this project and the Flourish Campaign with such overwhelming support and enthusiasm. When the very first conversations took place about a new campus and a new future for our students, we knew our greatest strength to bring those ideas to fruition would be our school community. You have honoured that faith tremendously.
Our Flourish Campaign is the backbone of this visionary project. We are just over halfway to our $27M goal, providing essential funding to this generational campus project. The campaign, like the project, is an ambitious moment for girls’ education like only LFA can provide.
There has never been a more important moment for fundraising at LFA. We need everyone’s support to get us to our goal. With this in mind, please consider a gift to LFA.
