Our community will know that the Sisters of St. Ann are at particular risk of COVID-19 because of their age. All Sisters in BC are healthy, COVID-free, and doing well. However, the Congregation in Lachine has been impacted, with the virus hitting the Motherhouse. Four Sisters have passed away, and several others have been diagnosed with COVID. We share this prayer...
A Prayer for the Sisters of St. Ann
Loving God, in this time of pandemic we pray for the collective suffering of the world. We grieve precious lives lost and vulnerable lives threatened. We ache for ourselves, our friends, and family, for all those standing before an uncertain future.
We pray especially today in thanksgiving for the good health of the Sisters of St. Ann in British Columbia who remain healthy and unaffected by the COVID19 virus.
We pray also for the Sisters of St. Ann living in the motherhouse in Lachine, Quebec, which has been affected by the virus. We place in your loving care the four Sisters who have died, and ask that the 20 others with the virus will feel your power of healing through those who care for them.
Take away all fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from those receiving treatment or under quarantine. Give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect those responsible for their care and bring peace to all who love them.
We lift this prayer to you, Lord, and trust in your infinite mercy. Amen.
