Recently, twenty-five members of the Lighthouse Club came together to create personalized cards filled with thoughtful messages to seventy-five seniors at a local care home. They also knitted special lap blankets and hats, hoping that each recipient would feel the care and love that went into each piece.
Seniors are a valued part of our society, as they have experienced so much more than we have. However, sadly, they are often overlooked. Keeping this in mind, the club members took the time to pray for each person who would be receiving our gifts and notes, asking God to bless them and help them to feel loved and valued.
"It's so nice to be able to do this project along with my Grade 12 Big Sister," one Grade 8 member mentioned. Another said, "We get to work together on something to make a difference for the elderly, plus just get to know each other better in the club at the same time. I don't think I'd be able to be friends with people in other grades if it wasn't for projects like these." We hope this project will keep spreading joy in the lives of many special seniors in our community.
