Amelia King '27 Wins First Place at Poetry in Voice National Finals!

In the months leading up to the competition more than 10,000 students across the country participated in schoolwide contests and Online Qualifiers as well as team regionals in French, English and Bilingual streams. Amelia was our school English champion in the senior section, Siena Franks in our junior section and Grace Omae was LFA”s bilingual champion. In addition, our LFA English team of Amelia, Cate Shumka '27 and Kaitlyn Harvey '28 won third place at team regionals competing against twelve other teams at St. George’s School earlier in April.

Amelia was one of nine national finalists. The Nationals was judged by award winning poets from across Canada and hundreds of attendees from Quebec schools ‘gave a warm round of applause for each finalist’s impressive performance. Amelia very much enjoyed meeting some of Canada’s most esteemed poets and made many new friends in the workshops and activities leading up to the competition.
