With a convincing 3-0 win over Crofton, our senior field hockey Angels are champions of this year's varsity Vancouver Independent School league. The win secures the top Vancouver seed at the Sea to Sky Zone Championships.
LFA came out flying yesterday, with the top seed at Zones on the line. A quick 2-0 lead on the back of some sublime team hockey, gave the breathing room that the team needed to bring home the win. A beautiful late goal from Gabby was one to remember, but was simply insurance in the bigger picture. Crofton were their usual organized and hard-working selves, but LFA has held the upper hand this year.
LFA will have to wait for the results from the Vancouver public school league, facing off against their top seed in the Zone quarter finals. The winner gives themselves an excellent chance to secure their berth at Provincials, which will be held in Cowichan this year. A loss in the quarters puts everything on the line after that, as they'd need to win the consolation round and then challenge the loser of the bronze game for the final berth.
