The Cross Country Team season had a breakout year, with our Angels finishing with the highest standing in our school's school history at the BC High School Championships in Aldergrove on November 2nd.
The season began with a grueling Whistler training camp in early September and the stage was set for some record breaking results. The Junior team, who were the zone champions, placed second in the inaugural BC Junior championship, placing four runners in the top 45 of a field of over 300 runners.
The senior team narrowly missed the top ten out of the top 26 teams in the province. Outstanding performances came from Sophia Quinn '17 (12th), Madeleine Pringle '17 (18th) and rising stars Andrea Hui '18 and Justine Fahey '18 on the Junior side while team captain Natalie Pang '14 led the depth of the Angels team on the senior side.
The positive team spirit and morale expressed by every team member enabled each athlete to reach their seasonal potential and build for future years. The strength of the 13 athletes sent to provincials was supported by over one dozen junior athletes, who together made up the largest cross country team in recent history. Great work, Angels!
