Community Care Club’s Christmas Hampers of Hope Comes to a Successful End
Thank you to all students, parents, and staff for your generosity and compassion during our Christmas Hampers of Hope Outreach Program. With your help, our school community was able to make 19 generous hampers, comprised of multiple boxes each, that have now been delivered to 19 needy Vancouver families.
After a busy morning of last-minute wrapping and sealing up of boxes, hampers were brought down to the gymnasium where the student body gathered together to celebrate what we had accomplished. Over one hundred boxes filled to the brim lined the floor of the gym, and we were reminded of the Bible verse:
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35
During our assembly, we heard from both the youth ministry worker and the pastor of New Beginnings Church, who we partner with for this program. We were reminded of those in our community who can use a helping hand, and how, by working cooperatively as a school, with every staff member, parent, and student doing their part, we can show Christ’s love to others within our community.
Most importantly, as a school, we took time to pray together for the 19 families who received our hampers, asking God to touch each of the hearts of the 100 people we were able to help - 72 children, 27 parents and 1 grandmother.
Thank you for supporting Community Care Club’s Hampers of Hope, assisting some of the neediest Vancouver families and helping to make their Christmas a special one to remember. We wish you a most blessed Christmas.
