Angels Win League Opener

The Angels defence would tighten up with Ashley Velasco ’19 skying above everyone, grabbing rebounds. Be great on the boards led to all sorts of opportunities. Ava MacFarlane’20 and Maya Landerfovan ’20 were great in transition and our post-up game anchored by Raichel Feenan ’18 and Allison Kuzyk ’20. Welcome back, also, to Isabel Jalandoon '19 after a season’s absence shoots off the rust by calmly hitting both her free throws. We split our other teams' games against York House: the Junior team in the winning side but unfortunately the Bantam team came up a little short. Keen basketball players Alexis Fong ’19 and Kayla Canama ’19 are sidelined with season-ending injuries but find ways to stay active supporting the basketball program by helping coach the junior and bantam teams as well being part of the basketball officials club. Rookie junior coach, Mrs. Jansen leaves the relative quiet of the classroom after school to get into the emotional highs and lows of trying to get a ball into a net. She is helped by last year’s grads Phoebe Lee ’17, Katrina Canama’17, and Jinelle Chang ’11. It’s nice to see alumni volunteering their time training the next wave of Angels.
