Great Wins at Pacific MUN

During the last weekend of February, 38 LFA delegates attended PacificMun 2019 at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel in Vancouver. Although it was only the third iteration of this local conference and LFA’s second time attending, there were delegates from schools all across the Lower Mainland, B.C. and even Washington and South America!

Delegates, both new and old, once again dove deep into the fascinating world of Model UN. Students had a wonderful time debating interesting topics in their diverse committees, improving their public speaking and debate skills, and socializing with new people. Congratulations to the following 5 students who won awards at the conference:

Melanie So ‘21 who represented Germany on the Office of Legal Affairs who won the Best Delegate Award
Joyce Chen ‘21 who represented the United Kingdom on UN Women who won the Best Delegate Award
Rosemary Vayalikunnel ‘19 who represented Archbishop Giuseppe Betori on the Third Vatican Council and won the Outstanding Delegate Award
Vanessa Batten ’19 who represented Richard Warwick XVI, Earl of Warwick, on the Historical Crisis Committee and won an Honourable Mention
Asha Mior ‘20 who represented USA on the United Nations Security Council and won an Honourable Mention
Thank you to all the delegates who attended the conference! Everyone performed exceptionally well, and all are very well prepared for PRIMUN in Tokyo during Spring Break and CAHSMUN in April. Can’t wait for the rest of MUN season!
