Game # 1 (Exhibition) Nov. 28th at Killarney

Angels get season off to a great start with an impressive win.
The Angels traveled to Killarney for an exhibition game to kick off their season. Nerves got the best of the Angels as they had a slow start to the game and the score was 6-5 in favour of the Angels after a few minutes of action. The team made some defensive adjustments and only allowed a pair of free throws for the rest of the quarter. This 15-2 run to close out the first quarter gave the team a 21-7 lead after the first quarter. Top scorers in the quarter were Alexis with 8 points and Vanessa with 5 points.

The offence went cold in the second quarter in a defensive battle that saw Hannah lead the team with 3 points and overall the team outscored our opponent 7-5 in the quarter.

The third quarter was much better and saw the Angels go on a 16-0 run for the quarter and pushed the lead to 44-12 and effectively ending the game. Scoring was evenly distributed with six different players scoring field goals.

The Angels closed out the fourth quarter by outscoring their opponent 12-5. Fourth quarter scoring saw Carmen getting 6 points and Mikayla getting on the board with 4 points and Kate-Lynn with 2 points.

It was a successful opening game and everyone played significant minutes. Emily Silva had a huge impact on the game blocking several shots and alterting many more. She showed that even without scoring a basket she can have a huge impact on the game and was a biggest reason why Killarney did not score a single basket in the third quarter. Every player on the team scored except for Emily who probably made the biggest contribution to the team win with her intimidating presence in the paint.
