School Closure Information

In the event of an unexpected school closure before the start of the school day, a school closure announcement will be made on the following radio stations by 6:00 a.m.: CBC 690 (AM); CKNW 980 (AM); and CKWX 1130 (AM). We will also put an announcement on the school’s website and send families email notification of the closure whenever possible (this may not be possible during prolonged power outages).

If the administration feels it is in the best interest of student safety to close the school while school is in session, students will dismissed only if the school has received permission from a parent/guardian. Students who returned a signed release form at registration/re-registration time will be dismissed immediately upon closure. Students who have not returned a signed release will be calling their parents to ask for permission to go home.

Road conditions in different districts within Metro Vancouver can vary greatly. If the school remains open, but weather conditions near your home make travel unsafe, please keep your daughter(s) at home. In this circumstance, parents are asked to phone the office to inform us of your daughter’s absence. Student safety remains our top priority.
