Welcome Back BBQ 2025 – Biggest event in LFA history!

This past Friday we celebrated the start of a new school year as we always do, with our Welcome Back BBQ. This year’s edition was a little different, as it also marked the start of a new chapter for LFA with the launch of our Flourish Campaign.

In front of a crowd of nearly 2,000 students, staff, parents, alumnae, grandparents and past parents, we shared our vision for LFA’s future. The support and energy from the eager crowd was infectious and nothing short of inspiring. We are so grateful to everyone who came out to show their support, making this year’s Welcome Back the biggest event in our school’s history.

Among the big announcements that were made on the day, the most notable perhaps was the fact that we have already raised $9M towards our campaign goal of $27M. It is a tremendous vote of confidence that members of our community have already shown the faith and conviction in our vision to get us a third of the way to our goal. We were also deeply grateful to announce that the Parents’ Auxiliary committed a $1M gift to the Flourish Campaign, and that our Library will be named the “Cullen Family Library” in recognition of their visionary gift to the Flourish Campaign.

With the campaign now fully underway, we are counting on our entire LFA community to take part and help usher in this next evolution of LFA. Given the level of enthusiasm we witnessed this past Friday, we have no doubt that this community will help see through this visionary campus transformation.

A special thanks is owed to the Parents’ Auxiliary and their volunteers for organizing such a monumental event, to Jak’s for providing the drinks for the evening, as well as Dana Hospitality for all their effort preparing the delicious food.

We hope the success of this event marks the beginning of a great school year as we embark on a journey of transformation and evolution with the dawn of our Flourish Campaign.
